So last night I was called in to sub.  I was a little apprehensive as the week prior I did not exactly perform up to my ability.  Little did I know that last night would be the night I achieve my all time high score.  My first game started well.  I had a good shot to the pocket.  Strung a few strikes in a row, made SPARES which hasn't been an easy task for me this year only being a part time bowler.  But came up light in the 10th frame to leave a washout.  First open of the night ending my game with 228.  God it came up light - was it me?  Did I throw a bad shot or were the lanes changing.  SO the start of the second game I went with my gut and moved out still coming up light.  So I kept moving (adjusting left 5 boards which is a huge move for me being a lefty) and once again found the strike pocket in the 6th frame and ran them out for a 231.  Staying with my shot I continue to run the next 11 strikes.  I wasn't thinking much about it until the 10th and man did I start shaking.  My 12th ball was freaking me out.  The thought running through my head was could this really be happening.  Could this be the night?  Unfortunately I am saving myself for another time.  I came up light and left an 8 count.  It's all good because everyone was so amazing.  I won a $200 gift certificate for the center's pro shop which is really going to come in handy.  My daughter needs a new pair of bowling shoes and that is exactly what she will get.  I am so thrilled that I not only had my first 298 beating my prior high game of 290 (and no I didn't have a spare in the first frame) but I also beat my prior high series of 721 with a 757.  YEA ME!!!

OMG!!  Toward the end of September I learned that my incredible daughter had made the Girls Varsity Bowling Team for Menomonee Falls High School.  The team is made up of three seniors, two juniors, and three sophmores.  My daughter being one of the sophmores.  After a team vote she was selected to be team captain.  Well the high school bowling season kicked off on Saturday, December 1st.  The girls won their first match.  They have had three matches since and have won all three of those matches.  4-0 not a bad way to start the season.  These girls have really bonded as a team.  They are all very supportive of each other and are always doing whatever they can to keep each other pumped up.  This is extremely exciting for me as a parent and it is my hope that they keep up the incredible pace.  :) 

WOW - I'm on cloud nine right now.  Had the opportunity to participate in the Wisconsin State 600 Club Tournament this past weekend with all of my old teammates.  Much to my surprise I was able to do quite well.  Bowling 672 for my singles event then 673 for my doubles event.  To top it all off after reviewing the tournament standing I learned that I had taken over first place in the Singles and All Events Divisions.  I am quite thrilled right now.  The tournament ends on November 25th.  All we have to do is hope my scores hold up until then.    

Had the opportunity to sub in my favorite scratch womens league last night with some of my old teammates and what a roller coaster of emotions.  First to explain, I unfortunately had to take this year off due to family issues and believe me I'm very frustrated about it.  However, I have the Wisconsin State 600 Tournament this Saturday and didn't want to bowl in the tournament without having some practice games under my belt.  So my good friend allowed me the opportunity to sub for her.  I went into the night a little nervous and with hesistation.  After a few practice balls those feelings quickly vanished.  I started out with a 235 missing two 7 pins (not my favorite pin to shoot at).  Second game was 256 and lost first place in the pot game by three pins to another one of my former teammates, but it's all good.  Ended up the night with 207 for a total series of 698.  I was happy for my overall performance, however upset for missing a 700 series by only two pins.  DAMN those 7 pins.    Anyways, not too bad for a come back after not bowling for several months.  The sad reality though is it is killing me that after my tournament this weekend the ball goes back in the bag and won't be out again for quite some time.  GOD I REALLY MISS THIS SPORT!!!
